Enjoy a ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME train experience from Rutland to Burlington to view the Total Solar Eclipse. Did you know…the next time Vermont will be in the path of totality will be year 2106?!

Itinerary

Rutland to Burlington = 4.5 hours
Layover in Burlington to watch the Eclipse – 4 hours
Return trip from Burlington to Rutland = 2 hours

• 7:45 AM – Boarding Begins at the Rutland Amtrak Station
• 8:00 AM – Depart Rutland Amtrak Station
• 9–11:30 AM – Middlebury Hold – we will take the siding while Amtrak moves from Burlington to Rutland. Guests must stay on board the train during that time, but there will be plenty to do!
• 12:30 PM – Arrive Burlington Amtrak Station
• 12:30–4:15 PM – LAYOVER – Enjoy the Solar Eclipse Events in Burlington, within walking distance of the station.
• 4:15 PM – Boarding at Burlington Amtrak Station
• 4:30 PM – Depart Burlington Amtrak Station
• 6:30 PM – Arrive at Rutland Amtrak Station

Tickets – $250/person includes:

• Round Trip Train Ride – No traffic, hassle-free, and FUN. Move around the train and enjoy the onboard experience.
• Food & Drinks – Pastries, light snacks, and Coffee are included on the train ride to Burlington, catered by Southside Steakhouse. Light appetizers and soft drinks are provided on the return trip. Select alcoholic beverages will be available for additional purchase.
• Entertainment – Live Music, Tarot Readings, and Galaxy Room

What to Expect:

• Free Parking at the Rutland Amtrak Station
• 4.5-hour train ride to Burlington – It is an extended trip to Burlington because we will take siding while Amtrak travels from Burlington to Rutland.
• 4 Coaches from our “Green” Fleet:
  • Coach #1 – Bar, restroom, tables, and traditional coach seating & live music, outdoor platform
  • Coach #2 –  Traditional coach seating, galaxy room
  • Coach #3 – Table Seating
  • Coach #4 – Private Car – VIP experience available to book for one private party of up to 10 guests. The Macintyre is a luxury car with a living room, three bedrooms, an outdoor platform, a dining room, private restrooms, private dining amenities, and a personal attendant. Guests in this car will also have access to the rest of the train and entertainment on board.
• Live music will rotate to and from Burlington.
• A complimentary coffee and pastry station will be on board on the way to Burlington.
• Limited alcoholic beverages will be available for additional purchase to and from Burlington.
• When we get to Burlington, passengers will disembark at the Burlington Amtrak Station. From there, they can walk to events in Burlington.

  • Waterfront Park & Battery Park will also have Eclipse Festivities
• The Eclipse phase will begin around 2:30 pm. It is expected to be in totality for a total of 3 minutes and 15 seconds at 3:25 pm EDT, with a final exit of the moon’s shadow at 3:31 pm
• The train to Rutland will depart Burlington Amtrak Station at 4:30 pm, giving guests plenty of time to get back to the station
• We will depart promptly at 4:30 for a 2-hour traffic-free ride back to your car in Rutland while enjoying more live music, appetizers, and fun.
