Green Mountain Railroad offering full slate for Father's Day

White River Junction, VT – The Green Mountain Railroad is proud to offer a full day of special activities this Father’s Day, as the GMRR invites families to join us for a special excursion train ride and open house at the station. Author Dave Norman will be on hand to hear your stories about the railroad in the Upper Valley, and to talk about his book on the railroad and the region’s history, called “White River Junctions.” For those passengers interested in learning a little more about the history of the town and its fascinating relationship with the railroad, Dave will be giving a special talk that afternoon, and books will be available for sale.
The Green Mountain Railroad invites you to relive the days when travel was an exciting adventure, and involved train rides through the gorgeous New England countryside. Ride aboard the Vermont Flyer this Father’s Day, and you’ll enjoy the sights and sounds of rail travel...and arrive back at White River Station relaxed and energized. Then enjoy the displays and take in the history of the splendid station to make your afternoon complete!
Dave Norman is the author of four nonfiction books, including “White River Junctions,” which he says “is more than a regular history book.” The book takes readers for tours along the rails and through some of the most interesting buildings in White River Junction. Through stories from the glory days of steam railroading, to the life stories of contemporary Vermonters, the book paints a vivid portrait of life in our Green Mountain town.
Tickets are now available for the Green Mountain Flyer Father's Day Express, and include live entertainment and a “Berry Brunch” at Cedar Circle Farm!
