Big E Train Show
On January 28th and 29th, Vermont Rail System's Passenger Dept hit the road and relocated to Springfield Mass where the biggest model railroad shows fills 5 buildings with a weekend filled of events.
Vermont Rail System sets up a retail area with the biggest draw being a railroad simulator where folks can sit in front of a big screen and engine controls to learn how to run an engine. This years attendance beat records for the past 8 years! Worth the visit so put it on the calendar for 2013! The simulators and software are available at a special show rate of $185.00!

Polar Express train in White River Junction
The Polar Express by White River Rotary White Rriver Junction, Vermont is set for Dec. 10 and 11. Tickets cost $23 for adults and $18 for those 12 and younger. Babies can sit on laps for free.

The train goes to the North Pole where the “The Polar Express” book is read. Santa boards the train there and each child receives a a bell and sugar cookies. Photos with Santa will be available after the ride at Santa’s photo shop (there is an additional charge).
Please allow about 2 hours for the whole event. 30 minutes for boarding and debarking; 45 minutes on the train back; stopping to pick up Santa and hear the Polar Express story; parking, getting tickets, browsing; having a picture taken with Santa if you choose.
There are not bathrooms on the train, so you may want to use the ones at the station before boarding.
